The LP Galaxy Giovanni Series Congas are truly the finest wood congas ever created. These completely redesigned drums now feature the patented Extended Collar Comfort Curve II Rims, ProCare Integrated Shell Protectors, and a special new shell design. Hand crafted of premium environmentally friendly North American Ash wood, these 30" tall drums have resonance, attack and warmth found in no other conga. The LP Galaxy Giovanni Series Congas yield commanding bass, rich mid tones and crackling highs with attention getting projection. Each drum is crafted with LP's exclusive construction process using three plies of wood which are assembled utilizing internal steel pins for reinforcement. All of the natural colors and tones of this premium wood shine through the rich, deep gloss finish. These drums are accented by gleaming, gold tone hardware and feature LP's improved patented Extended Collar Comfort Curve II Rims which increase tonal range. The drums are topped with all natural hand picked rawhide heads. In response to design specifications from Giovanni, the LP Galaxy Giovanni Series drums feature heavy duty hardware including stronger 3/8" diameter tuning lugs and reinforced LP Heart Side Plates, each secured with three bolts and a backing plate. LP has also utilized Giovanni's input to create the exclusive Requinto - the most amazing single conga ever. The combination of the 9-3/4" head size, the afore mentioned shell contour, and hardware geometry provide the broadest range of tone available in a single drum. It blends deep bass tones, smooth open tones and clean slaps into one powerful drum. According to Giovanni, "If I could take only one drum on a gig, it would be the Requinto!" Each LP Galaxy Giovanni Series Conga comes complete with LP Galaxy ProCare Integrated Shell Protectors that prevent the side plate hardware from marking or damaging adjacent drums.
