Meinl Percussion The patented Floatune Tuning System makes this conga a truly innovative instrument. All mounting hardware is completely isolated from the shell and is secured without any drilling into the shell. The lug straps are positioned at the bottom of the shell and are isolated from the shell with a rubber pad. This isolation allows the head and the shell to vibrate freely and produces an increased dynamic range. Powerful lows and brilliant highs can be immediately heard in the sound. The Floatune Tuning System also has an aesthetic appeal. This visual aspect combined with the large assortment of high polished finishes makes Meinl's Floatune Congas very attractive with regard to color options as well as function. Only the finest hand-selected True-Skin Buffalo Heads are utilized. The smooth white surface is extremely comfortable as are the 4 mm rounded SSR Rims made from chrome-plated steel.
