Meinl Percussion Djembes have experienced an increasing popularity due primarily to the unique variety of sounds which can be produced from this instrument. The djembe has its origin in West Africa and is today one of the most widely used African drum. Meinl has put much time and effort into the development of premium djembes. The Meinl Djembe program now includes by far the widest selection of colors, sizes and well thought out assortment of great sounding djembe-drums. The MEINL patented Floatune Wood Djembe is made from the finest American White Ash, which produces an excellent voluminous djembe sound. Its gold tone hardware adds a beutiful look to this excellent drum.
