What's the deal with all those Filter Chinas?
All Filter Chinas are made from the revolutionary FX9 alloy and feature a waved edge as well as a number of holes purposefully drilled into the cymbal. All of this causes a fast, sharp and almost sinister sound with an aggressive attack, yet maintaining a short sustain. Available in 8", 10", 12", 14", and 16". "Right now I am designing my new set for 2005, and all the different Filter Chinas will play a big role in this set-up and for my future sound." explains Thomas. "I am thinking of approaching them more like tom toms, and not like cymbals. Since they are all pitch matched, this won't cause a major problem. I am looking forward to experimenting with these new sounds in my newly designed kit."
