Tambourines
Get dialed into the musical flavor of the tambourine!
We like the tambourine for the same reasons you do. It’s simple to learn, easy to play and its familiar jingling sound cuts and project well, bringing instant energy and a grooving vibe to any type of music including jazz, classic, hip-hop or rock ‘n’ roll.
Another thing that attracts musicians to the tambourine is that there really no right or wrong way to play it. You can hold the tambourine in your hand and shake it gently or vigorously, or mount it on stand and slap it sharply with a stick. You can strike it against your palm, wrist, leg or hip, or you can swing it up and down. If the tambourine has a leather-covered head, you can also tap it to help keep time and establish rhythm. Like most handheld instruments, tambourines come in lots of shapes (round, half moon, oval), are lightweight and feature either a single or double row of jingles for full-bodied sound.
